Kagawa set to start against Ajax Cape Town

Manchester United’s latest big named signing Shinji Kagawa is set to make his full debut on Saturday in their pre-season fixture against Ajax Cape Town.

Kagawa made a 4 minute debut coming on in place of Javier Hernandez on Wednesday night against AmaZulu FC but Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed after the game that he will hand Shinji a start for their next game this weekend.

Ferguson commented at the end of the match that he had not planned to use Kagawa at all during the game, but was forced to replace Javier Hernandez. Speaking to manutd.com the reds boss said;

“Chicharito got some cramp and had to come off,”

“I never thought the boy was going to come on. He must have been standing on the touchline for 10 minutes.”

“It’s amazing when there are so many stoppages in the second half, but it never seemed to go out when we wanted it to!

“He only came on because of Chicharito having cramp. I think he’ll probably start on Saturday.”

Nick Powell also remains a few days behind schedule and is a doubt for the Ajax Cape Town fixture. After Saturday Manchester United leave for China to face Shanghai Shenhua and ex Chelsea player Didier Drogba.
